Since its inception in 2023, the Andhra Pradesh Football Association (APFA) has been working tirelessly to establish a strong presence for Andhra Pradesh in the Indian football landscape. In just two years, APFA has achieved remarkable milestones that have placed the state on the national football map.

Key Highlights
- National Championships: Successfully hosted 4 National Tournaments on behalf of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) within two years.
- Historic Finals Appearance: For the first time since Independence, Andhra Pradesh reached the finals of the 2024 Junior Girls Nationals in Jaipur, finishing runners-up to Goa.
- Consistent Performances: The state team also advanced to the semi-finals of the Sub-Junior Girls Nationals 2024.
- Tungabhadra FC Breakthrough: APFA’s initiative Tungabhadra FC, representing Andhra Pradesh in the Indian Women’s League 2 (IW2) 2025, created history by defeating North East and Pondicherry and holding Delhi to a draw, advancing to the next round.
- Khelo India Recognition: AP Women’s Team received a wild card entry into the 2025 Khelo India Games, becoming one of the 8 participating states in both Women’s Football and Beach Football Nationals.
- Capacity Building: Trained nearly 100 participants through 2 Referee Programs and 3 Coaching License Programs authorized by AIFF, building a stronger foundation for the sport in the state.
- Corporate Partnership: Nivia, India’s iconic sports brand, partnered with APFA to provide football equipment at subsidized rates, supporting the growth of the game across Andhra Pradesh.
